About us

In late 2002, the Isfahan Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Center obtained a basic license from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education

In 1390, with the launch and equipping of its research laboratory, holding joint committees with industrial centers and pharmaceutical factories in an effort to coordinate research projects with the needs of industry and attract various applied and basic research projects, succeeded in obtaining final approval from the Ministry Health, treatment and medical education. These efforts to increase research activities in the field of knowledge production, especially in design, preparation of synthesis of new drugs using new methods, preparation of biotechnological recombinant drugs, production of drugs based on stem cells, and discovery or optimization of research drug molecules according to existing knowledge It is a natural resource or chemical chemistry.

Aims, Mission and Programs

-External organizational participation, coordination and cooperation with the pharmaceutical and health pharmaceutical industries of the province and the country

-Research communication with other research centers

-Priority of applied projects by attracting financial resources outside the university

-Granted research that cannot be done in the form of student dissertations

-Perform basic-applied research between the Center for Pharmaceutical Sciences Research and the Schools of Pharmacy

Overview

In line with the country's 20-year vision document and based on a comprehensive research and scientific map, it is clear that by excellence in research and technology fields based on national and global indicators, it has achieved the highest position among all research centers in the country. Be recognized as one of the top research centers.

: The missions of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Center include

- Preparing and evaluating purposeful multi-purpose drug delivery systems using natural and synthetic polymers with emphasis on chitosan and dextran.

- Design, manufacture, formulation and evaluation of drugs used in the treatment of inflammatory processes with emphasis on anticancer drugs and multiple sclerosis treatment

- Production of technical knowledge of manufacturing, formulation and industrial production of high value-added drugs

Strategic Plan of the Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Center, Isfahan University of Medical Sciences (2024–2025)

Mission

The Pharmaceutical Sciences Research Center of Isfahan University of Medical Sciences, located within the Faculty of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences, received its initial establishment approval from the Ministry of Health and Medical Education in late 2002 (1381 AH). In 2011 (1390 AH), after launching and equipping its research laboratory, organizing joint committees with industrial centers and pharmaceutical companies, and aligning its research projects with the needs of the pharmaceutical industry while also attracting various applied and fundamental–applied research proposals, the Center obtained its permanent approval from the Ministry of Health, Treatment, and Medical Education.

The Center’s mission focuses on generating technical and scientific knowledge, particularly in the following areas:

  • Synthesis of new pharmaceutical compounds
  • Production of recombinant biotechnological drugs
  • Development of stem cell–based therapeutics
  • Design and formulation of semi-industrial and industrial-scale pharmaceutical products
  • Extraction, identification, and synthesis of natural and semi-synthetic compounds and investigation of their biological effects
  • Conducting preclinical and clinical evaluations of both natural and synthetic drugs for the treatment of various diseases

Vision

The Center aims to establish a forward-looking and supportive research environment that promotes both fundamental and applied studies across diverse disciplines of pharmaceutical sciences. Within the five-year strategic period (through 2029 / 1408 AH), the Center seeks to attain a top-three ranking among research centers without independent budgets at Isfahan University of Medical Sciences and to be positioned within the first quartile (top tier) of the university’s research institutions.

To achieve this vision, the Center will leverage its existing and potential facilities to create an optimal and collaborative research environment grounded in capable human resources, inter-institutional cooperation, and effective attraction of research funding. The ultimate goal is for the Center to be recognized as one of the nation’s leading scientific and research hubs, advancing public health and contributing to scientific progress through fundamental, applied, technological, and clinical research in pharmaceutical sciences.
